Old MonroeMy field should be a Briggs & Stratton Diamond in the Rough because our hometown pride is super tough. So many of us love the game of ball that we play clear through the fall. My team was undefeated last year; that is a memory I hold very dear. Our field needs lots of tender love and care. You can pull weeds as you run around the bases, if you dare. We could use an extra field because we have so many teams. Right now we are bursting at the seams! Our bleachers are wooden and we find splinters in our seats. They are as old as the dirt I bring home in my cleats. The Power Within comes from my parents, coach, and me. Playing baseball helps me to be the best I can be. Being a team player at the ballpark, in the classroom and at home is something I like to do. It gives me the Power Within to set a good example, too. Someday I hope to play big time ball, so I hope you choose my field to be a Briggs & Stratton Diamond in the Rough, after all. I may be from a small town team, but having a great field to play on is what I dream!
